Gigi Hadid Told Kanye West He's A 'Bully And A Joke' After He Attacked A Critic

Gigi Hadid Calls Kanye West ‘Bully and a Joke’ After Vogue Editor Instagram Attack

After Kanye West publicly attacked a Vogue editor for criticising the "White Lives Matter" shirts he debuted at Paris Fashion Week, Gigi Hadid became embroiled in the rapper's most recent controversy.

After seeing West's performance, fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson posted on Instagram that the shirts were "deeply offensive, violent, and dangerous."

There is no justification, and there is no art here, she declared.

Karefa-Johnson was immediately the target of West's ire on his Instagram stories, where he posted pictures of her along with mocking taunts mocking her wardrobe choices. Additionally, he published a screenshot of a text message that begged him not to "insult that writer," presumably referring to Karefa-Johnson.

Karefa-friend Johnson's Hadid, who has collaborated with her, defended her in the comments section.

Hadid commented, "You wish u had a percentage of her intellect," in a since-deleted post. You've got no idea, hehe. She might be the only person who can save you if there is any real purpose to any of your nonsense. like the Should the "honor" of being invited to your programmed prevent someone from expressing their opinion? Lol. You are an idiot and a bully.

Later, Hadid expanded on her Instagram story.

She wrote, "I was trying really hard not to give that guy any air time, but publicly bullying someone who criticises your work on your huge platform is another level of ridiculousness to me." "Don't dish it out if you can't handle it. Don't release work for public consumption if you can't handle criticism, especially the thoughtful, nuanced, and considerate criticism that GKJ offered yesterday's show. This kind of bullying is childish.

Hadid also tweeted about Vogue's response to the firestorm. According to the publication, Karefa-Johnson was "personally targeted and bullied," and they supported her. It also mentioned a meeting between West and Karefa-Johnson to discuss the incident. West has since legally changed his name to Ye.

It's not acceptable. More than ever, we need voices like hers, and today, in a private meeting with Ye, she once again spoke her truth in the way she thought was most comfortable, according to her terms," the statement said.

They "apologised to each other for the way we made each other feel," according to West's Instagram post about the meeting, and "she disagreed I disagreed we disagreed," according to the rapper.

West has drawn criticism for donning a shirt bearing the slogan "White Lives Matter," which the Anti-Defamation League describes as a hate phrase that originated as a racist rejoinder to the Black Lives Matter movement. He was photographed wearing the shirts with right-wing commentator Candace Owens, and he reportedly also made Black models walk the runway wearing the garments.
