After Hurricane Ian's impact last week, which resulted in dozens of deaths, destroyed homes, and flooded roads, Bill Nye has a request for GOP lawmakers, Fox News, and Tucker Carlson.

The Science Guy, Bill Nye, told CNN's Jim Acosta on Saturday that "if we don't acknowledge there's a problem, we're not going to get it done."

Nye discussed how climate change affects hurricanes and what individuals can do to combat it. He also reflected on Ian's size and its economic impact on Florida.

Then he addressed Republicans in Congress directly:

"Therefore, I simply want to ask conservative lawmakers to stop. I am aware of your desire to be reelected. I recognise that you are motivated to engage these staunchly conservative voters by your primary system. However, you've already removed it.

Nye made reference to a "infamous, notorious" host of a "competitive, conservative" network who he claimed cherry-picked hurricane data, without specifically mentioning Fox News or Carlson by name.

Although this information is completely misleading, it is not a flat-out lie, according to Nye, who pleaded with the opposing side to stop using it.
